SURYA Yoga Foundation (Society for Unity and Research for Yoga Abhyasa Foundation) began in 2017 with the launch of a WhatsApp group named 'YOGA MASTERS FEDERATION' to unite yoga teachers from the two Telugu states and to facilitate mutual learning and the sharing of experiences. In 2018, based on the consensus of all the yoga teachers, it was formally registered as a legal organization under registration number 209/2018 with the vision of promoting authentic yoga education, advancing research, and improving community health through the timeless wisdom of Yoga.

OUR HISTORY
Initiated in 2017 under the vision of Dr. Karanam Lugendra Pillai through a WhatsApp group named 'YOGA MASTERS FEDERATION' to unite Telugu state yoga teachers, SURYA Yoga Foundation was formally registered in 2018 (Reg No. 209/2018) by consensus and rapidly evolved into an apex federation representing over 1,500 certified yoga teachers across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Dr. Karanam Lugendra Pillai is the visionary founder of SURYA Yoga Foundation. With extensive academic knowledge in management, law, yoga, and research, he initiated the 'YOGA MASTERS FEDERATION' WhatsApp network in 2017 to connect yoga teachers across Telugu states. Following consensus among yoga educators, he formally registered SURYA Yoga Foundation as a legal organization in 2018 (Reg No. 209/2018) with the mission of uniting yoga teachers, promoting authentic yoga education, encouraging research, and improving community health.
Under his leadership, SURYA has expanded across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, empowering more than 1,500 yoga teachers through professional development programmes, yoga therapy education, research initiatives, government collaborations, and social service activities.
